Yesterday almost immediately after Vijay took oath as Chief Minister, I needed to go inside Chennai. I need to drive kind of 50 kilometers round trip. And I should say like the drive was really pleasant. I did expect Vijay supporters blocking roads here and there, traffic congestions, bursting of crackers, people behaving like they are in a mental asylum. I saw nothing of it. The drive was pressurable, and I covered 50 plus kilometers in two hours.

It was a shock to me. In fact, we oldies call Vijay supporters “tharkuri”. Which means people who have absolutely no brains. You simply can’t teach calculus to an ant. Similarly you can’t teach common sense to tharkuris. It’s just impossible. Instead, you can just watch chimps evolve into homo sapiens again. That’ll happen far faster.

While I was returning, I was driving via Marina, and we need to take the left where the road goes through fishing hamlet. For some reason, the direct road between Marina to Santhome has been blocked. There I saw tharkuris in action. These were not those tharkuris who are economically down and who do rowdyism on street. But these tharkuris were economically well versed and they did their action with their cars.

Though the road had dividers, some went on the wrong road, and they did cause trouble to people who are coming on the right side. They rode the same way as any DMK or ADMK person will drive, as though the road belongs to them, and we the slaves of tharkuris should give way to them. That was their attitude. Something tells me Vijay’s rule is no different from DMK and ADMK.

While I was traveling in OMR, a tharkuri car came behind me and he was flashing lights. He did this even though he had a way to overtake me and pass me. It was annoying. The saddest part is you simply can’t make tharkaris understand. As I said, you can’t teach an ant, calculus.

The other thing that troubled me was liquor shops, they dotted the entire route. People were so desperate to go out and go to the liquor shops, that they jumped before cars to cross the road, these gave us tiny heart attacks, and it was annoying. If I hit them, the news will be like a poor man is hit and killed, or injured by an information technology guy, who drove recklessly. There will be rowdies, police, politicians and other people visiting my home, threatening me, trying to extract money out of me. Or else threatening dire consequences in a hit-and-run or murder case.

The victory of Vijay according to me is unexpected, and I do expect Tamil Nadu to slide down and Vijay to lose a lot because these people are just tharkuris. But yeah, somehow the time has favored the most idiotic people, and maybe by some miracle if they can beat DMK or ADMK, I will be really surprised.
