This year, the day after Pillayar chaturthi, I wanted to eat briyani. I drove to Medavakkam’s Yamohideen briyani and it was closed. Though expensive, its meat quality seems to be good compared to other briyani houses.

Then I drove down the road, towards Shollinganallur, took a U-turn, there was Khalids. Buying briyani there was a disappointment. In Yamohideen, you had lot of meat for rice, really nice to eat, that’s how briyani should be. But in Khalids there were just two pieces of meat, it was totally disappointing. Th price in Khalids was disappointing too, it was equivalent to Yamohideen.

I will never goto Khalids again. They just seem to rip people off. I must say though the taste of briyani in Khalids was not bad. But it rips us off, when you see the minuscule quantity of meat they offer.
